to all, Happy Islamic New Year of 1428H! ^-^
can't resist posting an entry on 1st Muharram. so, here i am~
new year is always related to making resolutions...
so what are my resolutions? well, they're simply a continuation from previous years'. the usual ones like:
- to be a better Muslimah (i.e. as a humble servant of ALLAH, daughter, sister, auntie, friend, student, part-time teacher, citizen...) in terms of Akhlak, Adab, Iman, 'Amal n 'Ilm (kene pandai jaga lidah, mata, tangan, kaki dan hati tu tau Khadijah!)
- to work on my relationship with ALLAH, Rasulullah sollallaahu 'alaishi wasallam n the people around me
- to curb and control my nafs (desire). n this encompasses ALL types of nafs: nafsu makan, nafsu tidur, nafsu slack (a.k.a nafsu nak malas je!), nafsu membeli, nafsu jiwang (=P), nafsu menangguh2 kerja...
to start off, i'm pretty happy with myself for curbing two such desires yesterday while jalan-jalan with my dear junior from Biomed, Raihanah. such a sweet n kind girl she is. baarakallaahu feeha. she asked me out for lunch (hee~ comel kan?), n so we ended up spending about 3 hours in each others' company. suker~
anw, back to the two desires i managed to curb:
- the desire to buy this pair of very nice earrings. lawa sgt. comel. sweet! ok. i guess by now u get the idea how much i would love to have the earrings. esp considering that i already have like, erm, more than 20 pairs at home. ish. jgn nak membazir eh Khadijah. membazir tu kawan syai......tan... (like how i always remind my nieces n nephews. i just have to say the "syai....." n they will continue with the "....taaaaan" *kih kih kih* must practise what u preach k?)
- the desire to buy the latest meal at Burger King. alar, u know the grilled chicken turkey bacon. complete with lettuce, mayo, tomatoes.... *awW* anw, i finally settled on the normal turkey bacon meal. alhamdulillah. (takpe, yg mahal2 tu nnt boleh pujuk kakak or abang belanja. heehee~)
yup yup, i know they were just minor desires. but still, to me it's a good start. *triumphant smile* so in the end i spent the rest of my money on something else. something that i feel i need (not "want"). something fresh to start off the New Year with. *secretive smile*
may ALL our (yup yup. that includes YOURs too! :D) dreams, aspirations, n resolutions come true. aameen! let's continue our du'a for each other k? du'a for our fellow Muslim brothers n sisters out there. esp those in Palestine, Iraq, Lebanon, Indonesia, Malaysia (flood. kesian kan dorang :( ]...
