Just a little reminder to share :)
‘Abdullah ibn Mas’ud said: The Prophet ‘alaihis solatu wassalam said, “Islam began as something strange, and it will revert to being strange as it was in the beginning, so good tidings for the strangers.” Someone asked, “Who are the strangers?” The Prophet said, “The ones who break away from their people (literally, ‘tribes’) for the sake of Islam.”
This hadith was narrated by Ibn Majah on the authority of Anas and Abu Hurairah radhaillahu ‘anhuma.
So, if others:
- Smoke and you don’t
- Eat and you fast
- Are involved in BGR and u remain single out of fear of HIM and of committing more sins (notice the word 'more' coz by remaining single it doen’t mean one is free of sins, just that by involving in BGR, the tendency to commit sins is higher. Faham kan? :) )
- Gossip and you avoid participating and listening to such worthless and meaningless “conversations”
- Speak on the phone with the opposite gender over unnecessary matters and you don’t
- Keep up to date with latest songs and movies and you are unaware of them
- Wear tight and translucent clothes and you stay true to the proper Muslimah’s way of dressing (i.e. loose, non-shape-revealing clothes, and unscented –no perfumes for Muslimahs outside the house, remember? :))
- Let their gaze land upon anything and you discipline yourself to lower your gaze
- Eat almost anything and you refrain yourself from consuming things that are syubhah (unclear of the status) and stick to only things that are halal...
If by doing all these makes you “strange”, then let it be :)
Remember that Islam is not here to fit in to our way of life. Rather, we are the ones who have to fit in with Islam. Let’s carry out our duties as Muslims and be proud of it :)
May our mujahadah be blessed by HIM and attain HIS pleasure. Ameen! :)
Teringat kata2 Ukht Syazwani waktu usrah dulu: “zaman sekarang ni kita kena luarbiasakan perkara2 yang dianggap biasa.”
Macam keluar berdua dengan bukan muhrim dan pergaulan beas antara lelaki dan perempuan. Semua ini, disebabkan dah selalu sangat berlaku di sekeliling kita, dianggap “biasa” dan “tak salah pe…”
padahal ajaran Islam dah terang menyuruh kita menjauhkan semua itu. Dan tentunya segala yang dianjurkan oleh Islam itu tidak lain, adalah demi kebaikan dan kemaslahatan kita jua kan? :)
akhir kalam, selamat menyambut Hari ‘Asyura’! perbanyakkanlah puasa di bulan Muharram :)

Khas Buat Emak

Assalamu’alaikum wr. wb.
Mak,
Buat kali keduanya, sempena hari lahir emak yg ke- 60 pd bulan ni, Khadijah nak tulis warkah lagi! Mak tau kan anak mak ni suka tulis surat. Kalau dah start tu pulak, mesti ter-panjang tau mak. Tapi takpelah, bukan selalu dpt nyenyeh byk2 dengan mak kan? Lagi skrg dah jauh…
Mak,
pertama sekali, org nak berterima kasih sangat pada Mak dan Ayah sebab akhirnya izinkan org belajar kat Syria. Tak boleh bayangkan kalau org tak sampai sini psl selama 6 bulan org di sini, org belajar banyak nah mak. Sgt sgt. Bab du’a je mcm2 du’a org belajar. Mak dgn ayah untung jugak sbb org dah tau byk du’a utk du’akan mak dgn ayah semua! ^-^ imagine setiap langkah yg org atur utk menuntut ilmu, setiap kali itu juga mak dan ayah serta sesiapa shj yg telah membantu dari pelbagai segi, akan mendapat ganjaran yg selayaknya daripadaNYA, biidznillah.
Mak, org tak sabar nak balik nanti nak masakkan untuk Mak. Org adalah belajar masak beberapa jenis lauk. Mesti mak happy kan? Ayah pun mesti dah tak bising2 lagi suruh kitorang masuk dapur… hee. Cuma satu je kat sini ramai yg suka makan pedas2. jadi selalu jugak dorang masak pedas2. usih. stress jugak kadang2. Anak mak ni manalah tahan pedas… tapi kene belajar tahan pedas jugak. Dah namanya tinggal beramai, mestilah kena pandai sesuaikan diri dan toleransi sesame sendiri kan mak? ;)
Mak, nanti 2 Feb ni, org start mid-year exam insyaAllah. Org akan cuba usaha betul2 dan istiqamah, elakkan tidur (musim sejuk ni –yang kelmarin pernah mencecah –6 degrees!- memang sedap duduk bawak comforter tebal. Konon nak belajar.. tapi nanti terus sedap tidur mak… ish. Cubaan betul). Org takkan minta mak dgn ayah du’akan org psl org tau walau tanpa dipinta pun mak dgn ayah mesti selalu du’akan anak2 kan? :)
Mak, org nak minta diri dulu. ni mata dahmula berair pulak dah… hehe. sayang mak ayah semua. Suruh kak sherin jaga diri dan baby dlm perut baik2. ni lah kali pertama org tak dpt nak tgk anak sedara org bila kak sherin bersalin nanti. Abg mat nor kelmarin tanya org ada nama yg “glamour2” tak. Hah. Org tau dia main2 je. Kalau org, org nk nama yg simple tapi best makna n sebutannya. Mcm Hanzhalah. Tapi tu org dah chop utk anak org tau mak. Nnt org fikirkan nama lain utk anak abg matnor k? Hehe.

A Brother Like That
was checking out my beloved Nur Ikhwan's message at the yahoogroups n soon fell in love with this story...
Shuaib received an automobile from his brother as a Eid present. On Eid day when Shuaib came out of his office, a street urchin was walking around the shiny new car, admiring it. "Is this your car, Uncle?" he asked. Shuaib nodded. "My brother gave it to me for Eid." The boy was astounded. "You mean your brother gave it to you and it didn't cost you nothing? Boy, I wish…" He hesitated. Of course Shuaib knew what he was going to wish for. He was going to wish he had a brother like that.
But what the lad said jarred Shuaib all the way down to his heels.
"I wish," the boy went on, "that I could be a brother like that." Shuaib looked at the boy in astonishment, then impulsively he added, "Would you like to take a ride in my automobile?"
"Oh yes, I'd love that."
After a short ride, the boy turned and with his eyes aglow, said, "Uncle, would you mind driving in front of my house?" Shuaib smiled a little. He thought he knew what the lad wanted. He wanted to show his neighbors that he could ride home in a big automobile. But Shuaib was wrong again. "Will you stop where those two steps are?" the boy asked. He ran up the steps. Then in a little while Shuaib heard him coming back, but he was not coming fast. He was carrying his little crippled brother. He sat him down on the bottom step, then sort of squeezed up against him and pointed to the car.
"There she is, uncle, just like I told you upstairs. His brother gave it to him for Eid and it didn't cost him a penny. And some day I'm gonna give you one just like it…then you can see for yourself all the pretty things in the Shop windows that I've been trying to tell you about."
Shuaib got out and lifted the boy to the front seat of his car. The shining-eyed older brother climbed in beside him and the three of them began a memorable holiday ride.
That Eid, Shuaib learned what the Rasul-Allah meant when he had said: "love for your brother what you love for yourself".
