Lead by Example?
13 Dzulhijjah 1436H

was reading Solusi no. 77 (Biar Mata Membawa ke Syurga), came across an article on Teladan Hidup..
About how the no. of female teachers often overweighs that of the male teachers. As a result:

"Murid-murid perempuan lebih terdorong untuk belajar dan cemerlang kerana teladan guru wanita ada di hadapan mata mereka...
Murid-murid perempuan sentiasa mendapat inspirasi dan dorongan dalaman, ingin berjaya seperti guru wanita di sekolahnya..."

Whilst weighing these thoughts in my mind (reminded of some betuah boys in school), I can't help thinking of myself.
This weak self, full of shortcomings and flaws.
Yet, I am aware that some students really look up to me :(
I can feel it. Their love. Their attention.
Their jealousy (when I talk to some of their peers for a longer time, for example)...

Seramnya ya Allah...

Maka bimbinglah daku yang lemah ini agar dapat menjadi Muslimah yang benar-benar layak untuk menjadi teladan bagi yang lain, pada PandanganMu :'(

(photo below shows examples of students expressing their affection towards their 'ustazah'. ya Allah, please Bless & Protect these dear little hearts...
I love them too, 3, 4... :'))

The Significance of Ihram

Taken from Productive Muslim emails.

#deeeep :')

: There are many beautiful lessons in the Ihram and I'm sure you've heard many of them - but I'm interested in some of the lessons of Ihram that relate to productivity. Here are a few that come to mind:

  1. We learn to be humble in life: We realise in a very visual way, that there's no difference between a king and a servant, a minister and an employee, all of us, at the very basic level are humans with feelings, desires, and needs. This means that when we want to be productive and serve others, we should aim to serve everyone without preference. We are all the children of Adam (alayhis) and Adam (alayhis) was made from dust.
  2. We learn to be conscious of Allah (swt): When you're in a state of Ihram, you're always conscious of not breaking any of the Ihram rules, e.g. not putting perfume, not cutting your nails, not using scented soap, etc. This level of presence in the mind is training us to always keep Allah (swt) present in our minds and conscious of His laws and obligations, thus we lead a spiritually productive lifestyle when we go back home.
  3. We learn to neglect our physical comforts for spiritual gain: Not being able to use scented soap, or not cutting your hair or nails might seem trivial, but you'll be amazed how you’ll start craving these small comforts once they become forbidden. Allah (swt) is teaching us to overcome our basic body desires, and instead focus on our Soul and Spiritual selves. He's teaching us to be masters of our bodies, instead of servants for its comforts.

These three lessons: being humble, being conscious, being masters of our physical comforts are extremely powerful in helping us lead productive lives...

Syeikh Bugha!
26 Dzulqa'dah 1436H

Been overwhelmed with so many activities during the past few days...

For the first time in my Aljunied days history, I took 3 days of MC due to my chesty n phlegm-y cough. Which started on 6th Aug and ended last week, alhamdulillah :')
Experienced 2 weeks of suara-sengau ("ustazah, kenapa suara ustazah lain?").

MCs over, back to CA-week of school. Then marking & focusing on drafts of SA2 papers.

In b/w were the Teachers' Day celebrations (1 on the 5th-storey, 1 at the hall, and the last 1 at AquaMarine @Marina Mandarin).
3rd Sept was the most rushing day to date. hehe.

Rushed off to talaqqi class with Syeikh Mustafa Dib Al-Bugha (Syrian Syeikh, author of Fiqh Al-Manhaji and many other religious books) @ Pergas.

Fiqh Muqaran class lasted for 6 days, on top of talaqqi of Waraqat (2 days), Syeikh visit to Aljunied and gatherings of Dmasyq @ Masjid Al-Mukminin with Syeikh...

And today Syeikh had to leave Sg (earlier than planned) :')

And me now taking a break from another round of marking. Subhanallah! I just realised that marking can be very mentally-draining (trying to comprehend what the students refer to in open-ended answers, me trying to remember the answer key while not referring too often to them - time-saving - , thinking what's the best mark to award the student, calculating the total marks...).

Allahul Musta'an...
