A Sufi once said:
“Sit with those of this world, and you become a speck in its sea.
Sit with those of Allah, and the world becomes a speck in your sea.”

Patience- Its True Meaning
22 Jamadilawal 1428H
a'ah. bukan dah kutuk, sumpah-seranah berbakul2, tumbuk/pukul orang, melalak atau meraung2 for the first 30 mins ke... then baru apabila ditenangkan org dia sabar. nope. tu dah terlambat....
dlm hadith ni diceritakan tntg kisah wanita yg kematian anak lelakinya. lalu beliau meraung di kuburan, dan ditegur oleh Rasulullah dgn cara yg berhikmah. tapi beliau sebaliknya menyuruh Rasulullah pergi (she didn't know she was speaking to Rasulullah 'alaihis solaatu wassalam in the first place laa).... then after some time, after getting to know from a sahabah whom she was speaking to just now (Rasulullah had left), she went to apologise, n claimed that she is being patient (n she was, at that moment). n that was when Rasulullah gently told her the real meaning of Sabr :)
this, made me ponder n reflect upon myself. all this while when i thought that i was being patient... was i really patient? or did i only practise patience after a time lapse?bila dah puas mengamok kat orang, dah puas menangis, membebel2 (ntah ape2 yg mepek je yg keluar dr mulut ni gaknye eh time depress/sedih/merajuk/stress...
p.s. does anyone know of any English Tafsir class or anyone who is qualified enough to conduct a tafsir class (starting from the 4th Juz or so) for an European Muslimah? North area. There's this super nice lady who is very enthu n eager to learn tafsir n at the moment learning it weekly thru the phone, all the way from America! maasyaAllah! she asked me, but i'm neither qualified nor confident nor experienced enough to conduct a tafsir class at a higher level. berat tanggungjawab tu. hmm~ tengok kesungguhan dia.... menginsafkan. sedangkan kita ni yang dah dilahirkan sebagai Muslim, kadangkala kurang, atau tidak ambil peduli langsung tentang mendalami 'ilm agama ni kan....
p.p.s. family n me (14 of us -incomplete still. some couldn't get leave from work) are going to KL this Sunday for a vacation, till Wednesday insyaAllah. this will be my very first time stepping into KL. huu~ do du'a for us k? baarakallaahu feekum :)

Think out of the Box!
You are driving along your car on a wild, stormy night, it's raining heavily, when suddenly you pass by a bus stop, and you see three people waiting for a bus: 1. An old lady who looks as if she is about to die. 2. An old friend who once saved your life. 3. The perfect partner you have been dreaming about.
Which one would you choose to offer a ride to, knowing very well that there could only be one passenger in your car?
............
This is a moral/ethical dilemma that was once actually used as part of a job application.
* You could pick up the old lady, because she is going to die, and thus you should save her first;
*or you could take the old friend because he once saved your life, and this would be the perfect hence to pay him back.
* However, you may never be able to find your perfect mate again...
The candidate who was hired (out of 200 applicants) had no trouble coming up with his answer
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . His answer: "I would give the car keys to my Old friend and let him take the lady to the hospital. I would stay behind and wait for the bus with the partner of my dreams."
Sometimes, we gain more if we are able to give up our stubborn thought limitations... and begin to "Think Outside of the Box"!
pandai boy ni. n kinda romantic, don't u think so? suker~ ;)

My Kids
Marking exam scripts can be quite amusing...
especially when u come across such cute, honest and innocent answers. let me share with u a few examples from Akhlaq:
1.Adakah kita patut bersikap lemah-lembut dan bersopan-santun terhadap manusia sahaja atau kepada semua makhluk?
ans: Kita harus bersifat sopan kepada semua makhluk termasuk juga syaitan.
2. Apakah yang boleh menyebabkan seseorang itu bergaduh?
ans 1: memalukan orang lain seperti menarik seluar
ans 2: mencari pasal
then for Fiqh, there was this girl who spelled "komo-komo" instead of "kumur-kumur". comel kan? had a chuckling good time marking her paper laa~ hee..
n how could i ever forget those answers they gave me for their homework?
Q: Pernahkah anda berbohong? Apakah bentuk pembohongan itu?
Ans 1: Ya. Saya bohong dgn kawan saya yang saya dah pernah pergi Disneyland...
Ans 2: Ya. Saya berbohong dgn Mak yang saya minum air putih, tetapi saya minum air gas waktu recess...
alahai~ will surely miss my kids when i've to leave one day... kdg2 tu geram jugak dgn bdk2 ni. esp the boys. suka nah crowd around my table tau. rimas! then, since my voice is not so loud, they will do the shouting for me: "DIAMLAH! USTAZAH KAN NAK CAKAP!" one after another. that, will only makes the class noisier.
how they always try to impress me. accompany me during recess time. buy for me food. ampu2 me (hehe. *secret*)...
anw, i promised my 2 form classes that whoever scored the highest for Arabic paper will get a special present from me. :D why Arabic? coz it's my fav subject, n coz i'm the I/C of that subject kat masjid ni (P1-P6 je. for kelas Remaja ada satu ustaz cekik darah ni yg handle =P), n also as a motivating factor for them to work harder. (nak bagi for ALL subjects budget lum cukup. heh).
the rate of failures for Arabic is quite high. gue risau banget beb. coz it can be demoralising for the students. very. n they might hate the subject bcoz of that. n oh, how i dread that to happen. i want to show them, convince them that Arabic is not a difficult subject after all. it's challenging, yes. but that's exactly why it's very intriguing and interesting. kalau senang sgt, nnt dah kureng oOmpH dia~ :D
selalu orang cakap Arabic tu susah. =( if u already have such a pessimistic mindset, u'll lose confidence n less likely to have the drive to improve on the subject. kan? "alah...mmg subject tu susah pe. kawan2 pun ckp subject tu susah. so dpt markah cukup makan pun takpe ah.." anak-anak ummi nnt beranilah ckp mcm tu depan ummi kalau nak kene lesing~ =P
ok dah. actually this post is for my own memoir. oh yep, b4 i forget, there was also this P1 boy whom i invigilated last Tuesday. everytime my eyes caught his, he would smile very sheepishly, n avert his gaze from me. n again, those "romantic" moments repeat. comel kan? Aiman name die. bila dia senyum kan, terserlah gigi depannye yg rongak. fuh. mengancam beb!=P Aiman belajar rajin2, jadi good boy, nnt bila ustazah ada daughter, i might consider u as my son-in-law tau. hee~ (iyelah tu Khadijah~ fikir siket punyer jauh eh...=P)
Let us never fall into the trap of seeing beauty only in what a person looks like. That kind of beauty is skin deep. Allah alone can see the real beauty of each person He has created. In trying to live as good Muslims, we, too, might one day reach that kind of beauty that is so attractive to others.
