From the signs that Allah has turned away from His servant

is that He makes him occupied with that which doesn't concern him

FB
29 Zulhijjah 1432H

ever since my return to Homeland, I've had the time to go online daily.
which also means that I log in to my FB account almost everyday.
personally, I still prefer expressing my thoughts and feelings at my khad-safiy.
more comfortable and "cosy" ;)

Meanwhile, it seems that some users really "let off their steam" at their FB walls.
yes, FB is now made to be at the tips of our fingertips. but self-control is still ought to be practised.

besides that, I also noticed that there are quite a few who post quite intimate pictures of themselves with their spouses. some using them as their profile pictures.
Yes, undoubtedly, dah halal.
cumanya yang ter-nampak, rasa segan. malu. I don't know if it's just me, but really, a lot of ghaddul basar (lowering of the gaze) has to be practised while online.
ya Rabb... hati ini, perlu dijaga sentiasa. and i'm pretty sure those kind of pictures aren't helping the viewers to keep the hearts clean. especially for those who are not yet married (but having the intention to do so).

honestly, I'm not so worried about myself. I'm more worried for the brothers out there especially. org lelaki ni kadangkala menyeramkan :S

...
all in all, i guess i'll still check out FB at least 5 times a week. (not sure when i've started working full-time next year though). because to date, i've learnt quite a lot of things. from the posts, and the links that my friends share. Alhamdulillah... at this very moment, i've just came across this. the previous 3 articles that I read from the same website were good!
...not to forget that FB also makes keeping in touch with some of my friends easier :)

nevertheless, i feel that i've to practise more self-restraint. as in, to prioritise other important tasks that my attention, rather than checking out the posts and links. first is a need. while the latter is something that I can do when the time permits. because time really flies when u're in the FB world.
ya Rabb...
to myself:
"from tomorrow onwards, do practise the above words Khadijah! buat apa yang patut dulu! discipline yourself Khadijah! that's the way of the Mujahidah!

insyaAllah... :')

Tarbiyah al-Awlad!
just came across another link on Early Upbringing of Children. ^-^
i like this part:
"He (the child) should be taught that inferiority is in taking and that superiority and dignity is in giving"
and a story:
Sahl Ibn Abdullah once said, “I was a child of three years, and I would stay awake at night looking at my uncle, Muhammed bin Sawwaar, praying. So he said to me one day, “why don’t you remember Allah, the one who created you?”

So I asked, “and how do I remember Him?”

He replied, “Say, three times in your heart without moving your tongue: Allah is with me, Allah is watching over me, Allah is a witness over me. (i love the Arabic version!!!)

I then said this a number of nights until I became accustomed to this. He then said to me, “say it eleven times every night.”
So I said it, and I felt the sweetness of this statement in my heart.

A year on from this, my uncle said to me “Memorise and safeguard what I have taught you, and act according to it up until you enter your grave”.

So I continued acting upon these words for years and I would find the sweetness of it in my privacy.
He then said, “O Sahl, whomsoever Allah is with, and He watches him and is a witness over him – do you think such a person should disobey Allah? Beware of disobeying Allah."

After this, I advanced to school and memorised the Qur’aan when I was only six or seven years old. I would then fast all the time, my daily sustenance was bread made from barley and thereafter I would wake during the night in order to pray.

...
found another link on Luqman's advice to his son (!).
ya Rabb... Please grant me the chance to tarbiyah my own children.... :')
...
speaking of children, my 5 year-old niece, Huda made an unexpected statement yesterday, while we were at the dining table:
"nanti bila cik Ija kawen Cik ada boyfriend! eeii!! no shame!" *chuckles*
me: "eh? kalau Cik Ija da kawen, cik Ija ada suami, bukan boyfriend. ape je. tak shameful! ada boyfriend yang no shame!"

tsk. budak2ni~
haiz. anyway, that Huda is pretty good at teasing people. and when it comes to teasing me about such topics, i can feel myself blushing and menggelabah sikit. tsk. padahal budak kecik je kacau. huhu...
...
btw, I truly love the "It's Sunnah" at Facebook. personally, I find most of its posts very meaningful, creative, and help me to reflect. very good reminders. alhamdulillah...
(this is an excerpt from the sayings of the famous Syeikh al-'Uraifi)

11.11.11

and so, The Day finally came....
and went.

just like that.

n it's not merely the numbers. it's also a Friday (!).

:')
...

ever since I stepped in Singapore, there seem to be quite a lot of free time -as compared to my days in Syam (and Egypt, albeit just a short while).

perhaps i'm just not used to a non-busy schedule.

and i feel that i'm getting lazy. urgh.

let's see:

so far, i've been doing a couple of relief jobs -at Darul Qur'an (Masjid Kampung Siglap), at Masjid Assyafaah, coaching P4 students Science at Madrasah Wak Tanjong Al-Islamiah (only 3 sessions, before their final year exam), and the ongoing one at Tradisi Halaqah.

at home, i've been reading a variety of books, both fiction and non-fiction. am also trying to tarbiyah my 2 nieces, while at the same time teaching them some Arabic words, short surah and du'a, ngaji, etc. there are a few other students as well wanting to learn ngaji with me.

well, i've told them that i'll be able to help out till the end of the year, biidznillah. as for next year, i'm planning to teach full-time. ukhrawi subjects, inclusive of Arabic. really hope to revise and refresh what i've learnt, and practise my spoken Arabic. I truly miss speaking in Arabic! :(

one year of working, and then hope to pursue my Masters. that'll take around 2 years. which means i'll probably complete it in 2014.

meanwhile, been thinking about traveling. came across this at FB. was intrigued. the questions is: When??

as a woman -more importantly, as a Muslimah, there are guidelines that have to be followed during traveling, yes? this time, it's no longer the case of "dharurah" that excuses me to travel without a mahram.

speaking of mahram, now that is another big issue. uff.

my brothers are too busy and have their own responsibilities. and me don't wanna trouble Ayah. kesian ayah. nanti penat.

the best solution is to nikah, and have a zauj. (and then can have kids, biddznillah! weE~)

WHO? WHEN? HOW?

...

and Allah Ta'ala Knows Best :')
