27 Syawal 1429H
Second year (finally) started. There are 17 subjects altogether for this year, compared to 15 in year 1. more challenging, but definitely interesting. So far, so good. Suke gi skola~ u must be wondering what are the 17 subjects right? (kalau tak, tu tandanya otak anda tak aktif :p)

5. Fiqh al-ahwal as-syakhshiyyah (also known as Fiqh Munakahat)

7. Balaghah
8. Tarikh

10. ‘Ulum al-Qur’an
11. Tadribat al-lughawiyyah
12. English
13. Tafsir
14. Geography
15. Al-’ilam al-Islami
16. Al-fikr al-Islami
17. Akhlaq
No. 13 – 17 are new subjects, while the rest are continuation from 1st year, with the exception of Fiqh, coz last year we had Fiqh ‘Ibadat. This year Munakahat, next year Mu’amalat, and final year, Jinayat, insyaAllah.
Nahu n Tadribat are being taught by the same ustaz who taught us Balaghah last year. Wardah and me call him Ustaz Gagah, coz it suits him very well. Mmg suara dia gagah, dia ajar pun very clear n bersemangat. I loike~ Geography is being taught by the same ustaz who taught us Sociology and Psychology (all in Arabic, of course) last year. Huu~ tak pernah2 belajar Geog, tetiba belajar dlm bahasa Arab :D
So far, the lectures have been very enriching. Alhamdulillah. And not forgetting the tazkiyah an-nafs session that we have every Monday with the Dean of Kuliyyah Da’wah. It’s like a tadzkirah session, with reminders and encouragement for us to be successful and responsible du’aat. Best best!
May Allah ease our paths in seeking knowledge :)

to the new students, banyakkan do'a, kuatkan semangat. insyaAllah urusannya dipermudahkan Allah :)
Seorang anak tiba-tiba bertanya: “Bu, buah-buahannya kesakitan nggak kalau diiris pisau?”
Saya balik bertanya: “Ia diiris dengan basmalah,dengan hati-hati, dan rasa sayang, atau nggak?”
“ya iya.”
“Ya buah-buahan itu nggak sakit dong. Ia ikhlas. Ia tahu bahwa ia dibuat Tuhan untuk kita. Dan kita pun memakannya untuk bias membuat perahu, rumah, dan taman yang banyak dan bagus-bagus buat siapa saja. Supaya semua bisa berkata, Alhamdulillah.”

Firstly, thanks to Kak Dja Ithnin for lending me the book. I’ve not really read the book. (firstly, coz I’ve a riyadhus salihiin test this Sat. still have hundreds of pages to cover. Huu~. N secondly, bcoz it’s in Bahasa Indonesia. Very nice n original, just that I’ve yet to get used to the language I guess). Just browsed through some chapters and was especially interested in the dialogues. How the writer patiently and intelligently answered questions posed by the kids, both her own and the kids at the Children’s Home (Majelis Anak Alam Kampung Pasirlayung). Suker~
Rasa tenang je bila baca buku ni. Personally, I feel that kids these days are not treated like how they should be. Ada yang kasar sangat. Ada yang manjakan sgt anak-anak dorang. Di usia muda, anak-anak sudah pun didedahkan pada jenis-jenis hiburan yang tidak sesuai. Bila tonton TV, dengar muzik, anak dibiarkan ikut serta. Waktu kecil inilah anak2 paling mudah meresap dan mengikuti apa yang didedahkan padanya. Yg baik, dan yang sebaliknya. Anak-anak dilahirkan suci, bersih, tak berdosa. Sayang anak-anak yang sebegitu fitrahnya berubah menjadi “Mini Monsters” disebabkan kealpaan orang-orang dewasa di sekelilingnya dalam proses pendidikan mereka. Ibu Bapa kena pandai tapis dan bimbing si kecil. Bukan terus menyekat atau “menyembunyi”kan yang tidak baik, tetapi harus peka, jadi bila perkara/adegan yang tak baik timbul, mereka dapat menerangkan situasinya dengan anak dengan cara yang baik, jelas dan teratur.
Chey. Sekali baca, bunyi mcm Pakar mana ntah bebual. Sekali tu rupa-rupanya Khadijah Mohamed Hussain. Heee~ but really uh. kte pantang tau kalau nampak budak2 kecil yang “terbiar” tanpa tarbiyah yang sepatutnya. I like the way one of my sisters tarbiyah her kids. For example, while watching TV, when a woman who dresses inappropriately appears at the screen, my sis would ask her daughter –who, at that time, was ard 5 yrs old –“ is it appropriate for a Muslim to dress like that?”
and her daughter shook her head, saying: “no Ummi. Very shameful to dress like that.” Or something like that uh. Didn’t remember the exact dialogue, but I think the message that I want to share is clear. Budak-budak, kalau dididik dengan baik, ditanam dalam diri mereka tentang harga diri, malu, kesopanan, rasa hormat, rasa kasih dan rahmah pada orang lain dan juga binatang (geram tgk sebahagian budak2 Arab kat sini yang suka sepak/main2kan kucing. Kesian tau kucing2 tu!), insyaAllah anak-anak ini akan membesar menjadi orang-orang yang bertanggungjawab dan pemangkin Ummah. :)
