had a close session with al-fadhil al-Ustaz Ibrahim Kassim today in the meeting room. just him -hafizahullah- and us the asatizah of qism dirasat al-Islamiyyah. at the age of 86, he still portrays such dynamism and enthusiasm throughout the 1 hr 30 mins session. so experienced, yet so humble. and I personally like the way he kept stressing on the importance of us having strong faith in ALLAH.
when a minister thanked him for his deeds to the Muslim community in Singapore, he simply replied:
"Tak payah terima kasih dgn saya. Saya buat ni bukan untuk negeri atau untuk siapa2. saya buat ni semua untuk ALLAH..."
that one struck me. yes, we've heard of this countless times before. Still, hearing it from such an Ustadz, sent me into reflection mode.
Benarlah: apa yang disampaikan dari hati, amat mudah memberi kesan pada pendengarnya :')
so Khadijah, whatever u do, remember, it's not because of the madrasah/students/family/friends/anyone. it's solely because of HIM. betulkan niat....
#gotta try to be conscious of renewing the niyyah every now and then,biidznllah.
he ever sent letters protesting against an article in a magazine for insulting Islam. when asked: "siapa yang lantik awak jadi wakil bagi masyarakat Islam S'pore ni?? (at that time)", his unwavering answer was:
"...saya cuma jalankan tugas saya sebagai Khalifah Allah. Allah yang Lantik saya untuk pertahankan agamanya...."
these, and a few other experiences shared (including very trying ones, yet he was so resilient!), that make me realise the Importance and Power of having such Strong Faith in ALLAH Ta'ala, in striving for HIS Cause.
"Yakinlah pada ALLAH. Apa-apa sahaja yang kita buat kerana ALLAH, pasti Allah akan Tolong kita"
