Awal Muharram 1439H
Last day of Dzulhijjah 1438H

In the train, heading towards Novena, the so-called short-cut to Madrasah Aljunied.

Don't have the heart to start my ODOJ coz broken the wudhu'. Cobaan betul.

And so I thought: why not start listing some GOALS (a.k.a. Resolutions?) for 1439H? :')

So here it goes:

1. Sleep no later than 10:30pm. (Edited. Initial target was 10pm but I was afraid of breaking it ever so often. tsk. So i put 10:30pm as the max limit, but will try to sleep the earliest time possible, insyaAllah!)

For the obvious reason to enable me to rise even earlier, biidznillah.

2. Be consistent in reading at least 3 pages of anything beneficial in any language, as part of my mini Reading Whatsapp Grp Iqra' war taqi! (Read and Rise!)
Btw Qur'an and Awrad NOT included coz they are our daily lifelines, aren't they? :')

3. Revise at least 2 verses/day? huhu... Admittedly that's awfully little, yet if this weak self is able to be consistent with that small amt (as a start), it'll do wonders insyaAllah...
yaa Rabb!

[Continued on 1 Muharram]

4. Keep quiet unless there's benefit in what I'm about to say.

5. Stay fit and look after my health as an amanah. Face included (huhu. Lazy me!) What I consume included.
Having said that, gotta resume my spoonful of honey intake each weekday morning! Whose benefits are guaranteed by Allah ﷻ in the Qur'an <3

Allahul Musta'an!
........

Meanwhile, alhamdulillah for yesterday..
Went to Maqam Habib Nuh with Fatimatuzzahra' Razali, Zahra Roslee and Afiqah Tajuddin after work, then proceeded to Masjid Wak Tanjong for the Awal Muharam event. Habib Abbas was there :')

And it brought much pleasure to realise how they enlivened the Tarimis way of flfilling the time just before Maghrib..

Astaghfirullah lil mu'miniina wal mu'minaat...

Followed by:

Subhanallah 10x
La ilaha illallah 10x
Alhamdulillah 10x
Allahu Akbar 10x
Justttt before the azan Maghrib.
#Rindu
Oh and the bukhour!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

<3
Thank you Allah ﷻ

Jadilah Orang Baik
"Fikir Baik, Rasa Baik.
Beri Baik, Dapat Baik."
- Prof Muhaya

Last night my two nieces happened to watch this Inspirasi smth smth series (a Malaysian program) where the host will be visiting famous personalities' houses..

And so last night the host went to Prof Muhaya's bungalow, and I believe Prof Muhaya optimised the interview and turned it into a Da'wah platform as well, mentioning abt the importance of solat (orang yang jaga solat, confirmed berjaya dunia dan akhirat!) having good will of Allah's Decree (she also shared her experience witnessing her then 11-year old healthy son collapsed and passed away...), about spending money in the way that Allah Redha..
Focusing on silaturrahim, spiritual development, jaga kesihatan & jaga aurat (that's why she has a personal pool, gym and even hair salon!)... and so much more!

I'm soooo happy for her! Because there are so many rich people out there but to have those who are wealthy and use it as a means to Please Allah ﷻ, it's not very common, is it? :')

May we have more of such inspiring and influential Muslims <3

SakuraS in Sg?
The Sec 1 camp eventually came and went.

Reached home from the Bangkok trip at around 3:40AM on Monday (4 Sept) morning... settled some camp matters and replied properly to Whatsapp messages... and only fell asleep at around 5 mins to 5am.
Woke up an hour later to get ready for work...
And was the first female teacher (almost wrote first female staff, but can never beat Mak Salmah la. Baarakallahu fiihaa!!!) to arrive! hehe.

Quite kecoh at first, handling students' matters, and therr were 'surprises' by vendors....
Joint the students at Kallang Riverside Park. I think ustzh Nur Sakinah, Ustz Nasrullah n me walked thousand steps to cover all the stations there... maasyaAllah!
The scenic views and students' antiques entertained us though :D

Sempat :p
belum lagi gambar ktorg dgn bunga2 'sakura'. Haha..
Appreciate the wonders of Allah's Creations around you. Always.
They put lotsa smiles on our faces.
Alhamdulillah alhamdulillah alhamdulillah <3

And so I braced through the day till I left school at around 5:20pm...
And as usual, slept in the MRT on the ride back home..

...
Today, I finally paid my first visit to my Huda's home at Canberra. Syukran Huda for the Tomyam!
So hapoy to be able to spend time w u and budak kichi suara nyaring a.k.a Fursan :D

Sawadikaaap~
15 Dzulhijjah 1438H

First trip to Bangkok with family was....
ok.

Was initially anxious as we were supposed to reach there on the eve of Yaumul Arafah. The Best Day of The Whole Year.

Restrained all outings during the day, and spent it in the hotel room.
Alhamdulillah alhamdulillah alhamdulillah.

The Muslim community was quite well-to-do (as seen at the Masjid Hidayatul Islam where we had our Eid al-Adha prayers which started at 9am), and interestingly, all attendees were gifted with 50 Bahth (20 Bahth for children), followed by a Yaseen n Tahlil recitation (maybe bcos the Eid day falls on a Jumu'ah) andddd Makan Berdulang session! Authentic Thai dishes (all meat-based) with sweet pineapples and other sweets. Alhamdulillah.
The only sad part was noticing that most of the other dulangs were unfinished. So much rice, veggies, pineapples and dishes were abandoned on the dulangs.
#heartbroken
My sis tried to rationalize by saying that perhaps they cooked smth similar at their houses...

Allah ﷻ yahdiina wa yaj'alana minas syaakiriin
...

It's only when I returned home that I noticed I didn't buy much things.
Justttt enough to share with my close friends n colleagues, but that's abt it.
Due to: "cantiiiiknya bende ni, tapi kalau beli, takut tak pakai. Nanti membazir... terperuk je... etc."
So mostly I bought things for others who happened to cross my mind, except for some tamarind chewy snacks UNcoates with sugar. hehe. sukaaa~

Kak Mai mentioned that she liked Bangkok.

Well, the night markets are quite nice. The food too (although not very easy to find halal food. But when found, they're goood). But some are just too spicy... mcm.nak.membunuh. Grrr..
The people are generally nice.
Very clean.

Personally, I would still prefer to travel to a Muslim-majority country...
To help contribute to their economy,
To be delighted at the sight of our places of worship all over, instead of temples,
To be more ascertained by the halal status of the food (and the barakah, if they are prepared with the mentioning of Allah's names n selawat...) :')

Nevertheless, I've to remind myself to go thru basic conversation vocab before future trips to places where many people do not speak much English ☺️
It's kinda frustrating not able to understand much of what people say to u (I recall the experience with the reflexologist. haha).

Here are some pics for memory sake. Of the sunset view from the Ferries Wheel at Asiatique (altho I admit this pic totally doesn't do justice as the actual view was muchh more breathtaking, Glory be to The Creator!) and the elephant ride at Attatuya. Oh! And I was very pleased indeed to come across a musolla exclusively for ladies at Level 2 of Platinum Mall (which was right across our Amari Watergate hotel). The one for Muslimin is at Level 4.

...

Spiritually, hope to be able to participate in another Pilgrims at Home program next year, as it did help to push myself throughout the Blessed Days. Although of course I need to IMPROVE so much.
tsk.
Most importantly, Istiqamah ya Khadijah.
And as Anisah Iman Al-Kull reminded us:
Ultimately, it's the fruit that matters;
Are all those deeds transforming us into better Muslims at the end of the day???

:'((
