21 Sya'ban 1436H
1st day of the 5-day entrepreneurship "Summer Camp" (9am-5:30pm each day) for Syaakirah & Huda ended.
It touches me seeing how excited they were about it. Huda was in awe simply riding the double-decked 969 bas this morning (':
Amongst the things that they need to prepare beforehand include answers to questions like: "who is your role model?".
When I asked Syaakirah whether or not she has thought of the answers, she simply said 'YES!', and never did I expect Syaakirah to answer that question with a "you!" (Referring to me)
I was like, "me??!"
Malu.
Yes, I was touched. But more than that, I felt that I've seriously LOADS more to do to become a better aunt and a good role model for them.
:(
Banyak sangat kelemahan diri ni, yang hanya Dikau Tahu.
...
Meanwhile, brought both of them to Yishun Library last Saturday... And ended up borrowing 6 books myself :D
I was really inspired by the stories compiled by Ust Muhadir Haji Joll. Beautiful short stories of wonderful souls in Islamic history. #superduperloike~
The book by Ustzh Khairunnisa is no less inspiring! I was mesmerised by her wise & creative ways in introducing Islamic inputs to her 3 small kids. Including tricky issues like "Allah di mana?", syaitan, syurga-neraka, death, even on boycotting products by companies that contribute to the Zionists. CoOL~
(Initially I was quite hesitant to borrow the book, thiking to myself: "advance sangat lah nak baca buku ni.. Ntah bila...". But as I flipped thru the pages, I just cannot tahannnn~ hehe. #sothekhadijah)
"Cerita dari Syurga" is also nice! I really like the way the authors played with the words. Beautifully written and deeeeep.
Am now reading Langit Ilahi. My first time reading a book by Ust Hilal Asyraf. I noticed he likes posing questions for the readers to reflect upon (':
I was much attracted to the 'Prakata' part at the very beginning; when the author described how he started off with his blog. Not just any blog, but a blog with the motto: "Mari Menjadi HAMBA".
And so it made me reflected on my khad-safiy. And what my first thoughts were when I first started blogging in 2006..
To self: Tajdid Niyyah, ya Khadijah. Pelbagaikan Niat yang Baik!
All these entries will be of no value to HIM unless the blogger -me- has the correct niyyaat upon blogging AND provided that her entries are meaningful.
*guLp*
Yaa Rabb, moga diri ini terus terpimpin untuk menulis hanya apa yang Dikau Redha...
...
Just one more book left: Obor Ummah Siri 2 :)
Truly need to read on the lives of the scholars & 'ulama who had vastly contributed to Islam and be inspired to follow their footsteps, biidznillah.
I've already bought Ikon Syabab (which I left in school), but still borrowed it anyway with the intention to pass it to a student this Thursday insyaAllah. I'm trying to subtly push some students to read more in the hope of getting them to improve not only in their command of the language, but also widen their General Knowledge. Looking at these students (due to their very polite, helpful and hardworking attitude) humbled me and filled me with so much warmth and hope. For the Ummah.

P.S. Gotta increase my speed in reading (and completing) Arabic books as well! Push HARDER ya Khadijah! ✊
