Last day before 2013.

Alhamdulillah, 3rd sis's walimah went smoothly on Dec 22nd. didn't quite expect myself to be busy interacting with many guests, but oh yes i did. because the bride was away (make-up-ing), and i happened to know most of her friends/teachers/colleagues. the orange theme that was chosen for the family members was striking. argh!!! my first time ever wearing an orange baju kurung (dahlah baju lace cantik yg org beli konon utk pakai bila dah ada zauj :p)
personally, i feel that spending almost 2 hours on make-up and putting on the outfits are a waste of time. the time could be used to interact with the guests instead. meaning that the bride could (n should) just look like her natural self! (: (cuma mak andams out there might get frustrated at me...heh)
i remember reading an article in majalah Al-Ustaz on walimah. among the excerpts:
"Adat persandingan terbuka yang biasa diamalkan dihukumkan haram kerana beberapa faktor. Antaranya:
... unsur membuk jalan maksiat. pengantin perempuan disolek sebegitu rupa dan dipertontonkan hingga membangkit gelora syahwat dalam diri lelaki asing yang menatapnya".

Mom slipped and fell on my sis solemnization day. to date, she has managed to sit and stand up on her own, but is yet to be able to walk... Allah yashfiiha wa yuqawwiha..

attended a motivational talk by Dr. Fadzillah Kamsah at Masjid Sultan auditorium yesterday. alhamdulillah, was reminded of a few key points to practise in our daily lives, like forgiving others every night before we sleep, and making du'a for others as well. biidznillah! (:
earlier this month, attended another close session of discussion on turath al-Islami at MUIS, by Dr. Muchlis Hanafi from Jakarta. i like his style and the way he delivered the sharing, maasyaAllah!

on 27 Dec, 7:05 pm, my group (consisting of other more senior ustaazat) finally completed our first MA Project (on First Language Acquisition and its Theories) and sent it to our lecturer via email. alhamdulillah!!!

new school term is about to begin. yet, there are still a couple of things i've yet to accomplish. looking at my time-management -or the lack of it- these holidays, it's a no-wonder. haiz.
