We had a Teachers' Day Hi-Tea at Carousel today, sponsored by an ex-Alj Ustaz. Alhamdulillah, baarakallahu feeh.
Every year, we'll have a special treat for this special occasion at a reknown, grand restaurant.
Just that...
Some thoughts have been bugging me, and I've come to the conclusion that:
Buffet makes us eat a lot more than we should.
The notions of "sayangnya kalau dah bayar mahal-mahal tapi makan sikit je... Rugi!" Or "bila lagi nak dapat makan macam-macam begini..." Or "bukannya selalu makan kat tempat mahal-mahal gini... ", etc.
Yes, undeniably the foods served were delicious & tempting.
Yes, it is a rare treat.
and Yes, I'm able to eat quite a lot (despite my petite built).
Nevertheless, I still feel guilty.
I still find this "eat-all-u-want" idea unjustified and in non-compliance to the Shari'a.
Islam is all about moderation, isn't it?
About eating when one's hungry and stopping when one's full.
(Yeah I believe most -if not all of us- are aware of the hadith).
that in the dunya:
حلالها حساب،
وحرامها عذاب!
Yet, why do Muslims like buffet so much? (Including this weak self that's also guilty of being involved and over-indulging in all these wordly ni'mah...)
>.<"
Mujahadah ya Khadijah! :'((
